In a perfect world, a global custodian is the best answer. In some cases, we are able to recommend such a custodian who will provide single, comprehensive custodial and reporting services. The more complex the portfolio, however, the less likely we will see this happen. There are some very good long only managers who simply will not custody anywhere except their own firm. There are alternative strategy and hedge fund managers that will not share information outside of their own controlled universe. We don't exclude any manager based solely on custody issues.

Many of our clients have two or more custodians. In these instances we customize reporting to accommodate the client, based on personal needs and preferences.
